Software engineering graduated at La Sapienza University in Roma, Emilia worked as an International Sales Manager for Alenia Marconi Systems (Leonardo Finmeccanica Group), within the Italian National Defence industrial branch, and as a Project Finance business developer for her own Project Finance Ingegneria S.r.l. in Northern Italy.
Since 2010, Emilia is founder and CEO of Quantum Leap IP, leader in Technology Transfer and Open Innovation in Italy, aimed to help the Italian Research in promoting the IPRs exploitation and enhancing a tech transfer know-how through its own Open Innovation methodology.
She is also EU expert in AI and Robotics for evaluating the H2020 European Projects; she is a member of the AgID (Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale) AI Task Force Coordination Group and she is also the Ambassador of XPRIZE foundation in AI and Avatar Technology. In this matter she scouts teams in Italy to develop and demonstrate how humans can collaborate with powerful AI technologies in order to improve the living standards in the fields of healthcare, education, energy and environment.
Emilia Garito is one of the top 150 Italian scientists and innovation businesswomen for the StartupItalia! business editor and, as a charitable activity, she is the curator of TEDxRoma Conference and the TEDx Italian Ambassador.
Kemal has spent the last 25 years in various roles in academia, government, and industry. Currently - split between London and Helsinki - he is the Managing Consultant of Lifeworld Ltd and has interests and investments ranging from AI to Vertical Agriculture. On a practical level he has raised over €400 million through contracts and funding.
