We are happy to announce that the European Commission approved a 6 month project extension for FIT4RRI. As you can imagine our project ran into several difficulties due to the Covid19 spread. In March 2020, we planned to held our final summit RRI4real in Rome. In these exact weeks, Italy was hit extremely hard by the virus and it was in no way responsible to have an event with more than 100 people from all over Europe.
Considering the health and well being not only of the conference attendants but also those who might have been infected in succession in trains, planes and at homes is essential in this situation, especially while talking and researching about responsibility and ethics. Including citizens into research shouldn’t include the spread of a virus.
With the 6 month extension we have now been given the opportunity to properly plan the postponement of the summit. Most likely it will take place at the end of September. The further development of Covid19 over the next months will show if the summit will be in person or virtual. The planning is in progress and we will keep you informed.
In addition, we move most of our project activities into the digital world right now. We are planning national online workshops to get feedback to our guidelines as well as webinars to present our new FIT4RRI courses. If you are interested stay tuned. Our final results will be shared with the community. If you want to start sharing right now, fill in our survey about RRI awareness and consensus.
